This prestigious Landscape Institute Award, that celebrates urban design and master planning, was nominated by The Paul Hogarth Company who were the appointed consultants on this significant project commissioned by The Regeneration Unit of Donegal County Council.
Along with The Paul Hogarth Company, members of the Council’s Regeneration Unit and Cllr. Kevin Bradley, Mayor of Letterkenny and Milford Municipal District, were present to collect the award that recognised the value of taking a plan led approach to the future of Letterkenny.
The judges said that “it is an exemplary project that will inspire the regeneration of many other regional towns across the country”.
The award is the result of a collaborative approach to the sustainable growth of Letterkenny and involved effective participation by many local stakeholders, community organisations, Letterkenny Chamber of Commerce, regional and national organisations to produce an effective blueprint of the towns potential to be an effective regional centre in the Northwest.
