Donegal Education and Training Board (ETB) is the largest education and training provider in Co Donegal, providing a broad range of education and training services to around 29,000 students on an annual basis. Along with its extensive Further Education and Training (FET) Service, it manages fifteen out of the twenty-seven post-primary schools in Co Donegal and is a trustee partner for a further eight Community and Comprehensive schools. Donegal ETB also provides outdoor education and training at its centre at Gartan, along with music education through the Donegal Music Education Partnership and has legal responsibilities for youth work.
It actively pursues the further development of education and training provision in the County and has a history of responding flexibly to community and employer needs and aspirations.
As the county’s leading provider of Further Education and Training (FET), Donegal ETB provides a wide range of full and part-time courses from Levels 1-6, including apprenticeships; around 10,000 students take part in a huge range of courses each year aimed at all levels of skill and ability. Courses and programmes are offered by its FET Service all over the county in seventeen FET Centres, 100+ outreach centres or online or onsite for employers.
Its agile Employer Services supports employers to upskill and reskill the Donegal workforce. Disciplines include administration and business, engineering and construction, art and languages, health and care, IT and marketing, tourism and transport, professional development, sports and adventure and much more.
Under the Cross Border Further and Higher Education Cluster, Donegal ETB actively engages and collaborates with its education and training partners in the county (LYIT) and across the border (North West Regional College and Ulster University) with this work aligned with that of the North West Strategic Growth Partnership to further promote the development of County Donegal.
