Donegal supplier Mulrines sign muti-million euro contract extension with Lidl

Supermarket giants, Lidl Ireland, has announced a new deal worth more than €8 million with Donegal juice and smoothie producer Mulrines.

The new deal, worth more than €8 million will see Mulrines' juices and smoothies stocked in 210 stores across Lidl in  Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Working with Lidl since 2009, the contract extension strengthens the relationship between the two companies and re-emphasises Lidl's commitment to local Irish suppliers.

The announcement is also another major win for Donegal, showcasing the strength of businesses in the county.

Established in 1919, Mulrines is located in Ballybodey and currently employs 220 people, operating three sites in Ireland and the UK, including the headquarters in Donegal, an orchard in Kildare and a production facility in Wales.

The contract means the company will continue to produce 11 fruit juices and smoothies for the retailer, with 4 new products set to be stocked in stores later in the year.
