Donegal Camino in aid of Cancer Care West.
Guided by Award Winning and Donegal based guide John Mc Groary of John’s Walking Ireland and his team of guides Joe Coyle, Denis Sheridan and Michael Devaney, the Donegal Camino is also supported by many of Donegal’s high profile personalities who take to the highways and bi ways of their beloved Donegal with vigour.
Famous Donegal Faces and Personalities have walked the Donegal Camino along with our own Noel Cunningham. They include singer Daniel O’Donnell, Mickey Joe Harte along with the inspiring Guide Dog owner Jennifer Doherty from Buncranna who joined the 2022 Donegal Camino. Adventurer Jason Black has also hiked as has Altan’s Mairead Ní Mhaonaigh.
Donegal’s strong Celtic Connection with Scotland has also been experienced on the Donegal Camino with musicians Seamus O’Sullivan and Kieran Hepburn from Glasgow travelling to entertain walkers in 2022. All of whom join in with fellow walkers in savouring the atmosphere, camaraderie and friendships created on the Donegal Camino.
Donegal Camino 2024 which will open on Camino Sunday 1st of September in Malinhead, Inishowen, the most northerly point in Ireland and weave its with south west over 7 days to Europe’s Highest Sea cliffs, Sliabh Liag on Saturday 7th of September 2024.
It promises to be another fantastic 7 day walking festival with contrasting walks and hikes to suit all levels of fitness and walkers, surprises en-route and all set to the backdrop of the stunning Donegal landscape and scenery.
The Donegal Camino will continue to raise much needed funds for its chosen charity partner Cancer Care West Support Centre in Letterkenny of which the 2024 chairperson of the Donegal Camino, Noel Cunningham is a Director.
