The Donegal Dragon annual regatta weekend is an enjoyable weekend of community spirit, competition, dancing, music, local food, and activities for the dragon boating community both local and international.
The event is a change for breast cancer survivors to come together and celebrate. It is a chance for teams to showcase their training against other teams. This year there are teams coming from Spain, America, the UK and all over Ireland.
It will also give visitors the opportunity to explore the unique shops, restaurants, and tourist attractions that the town has to offer. The event will have activities for everyone from age 5 to 89. Race Day on the 16th will start with music and an all-inclusive group dance warm up and face painting.
This is followed by racing and prizes and local food. The evening will conclude with a trip on the Waterbus to showcase the beauty of the area. The event has many repeat visitors who have fallen in love with the community and make Donegal the location for their family holidays.
