The Allingham Festival is an annual literary and community-arts festival celebrating the lives and legacies of poet and author William Allingham and artist Helen Allingham.
Celebrating the 200th birthday of William Allingham, vibrant events confirmed for the 2024 Allingham Festival include:
• A concert by delta-blues prodigy Muireann Bradley
• A lecture by broadcaster Richard Curran on the impact of Artificial Intelligence systems on information, society and the arts
• Beirut – documentary film showing and Q&A
• Award ceremonies for the winners of the Allingham Poetry and Fiction Competitions, presented by author/publishers Kate Newmann and Nuala O’Connor
• Film showings, book launches, poetry readings and musical events
• Children’s workshops on art, songwriting and circus skills
