The Donegal International Rally is one of the most famous and longest-running tarmac rally events in Ireland, held annually in County Donegal. First held in1972
The Rally is by the Donegal Motor Club .It quickly became a flagship event in the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and remains the only three-day rally in the Irish rally calendar. The rally attracted strong domestic competition and, over the years, international drivers as well.
The scenic and challenging roads of Donegal—like Atlantic Drive, Fanad Head, and Knockalla—helped cement the rally's iconic status.
The event began drawing huge spectator numbers, boosting tourism and local economy. Legendary drivers like Billy Coleman, Ari Vatanen, and Bertie Fisher have competed in the rally.
