Born and reared in Bundoran, Jacqueline Breslin opened The Wellness Pantry, a community Health & Wellness Store located in the heart of her hometown, just over 6 months ago.
Having done some travelling, Jacqueline finally settled in Dublin in 2010 working in Recruitment and Project Management roles for several multi-national company’s such as Microsoft, Amazon, Indeed and VMware until she was made redundant at the end of 2022. This allowed her to explore opportunities closer to home and fulfil her dream of owning her own business.
Jacqueline was always interested in the Health and Wellness industry both as a consumer and from a business perspective and identified a gap in the market for a Health & Wellness Store in Bundoran.
Starting the business on her own was a challenge, but Jacqueline has really embraced the local network of entrepreneurs and particularly female entrepreneurs. Beside Jacqueline’s store, is Maine, a hair salon opened by Aine Carty a few weeks before Jacqueline opened the Wellness Pantry. “We were able to connect and support each other on the startup process. Its great to have Aine next door”, says Jacqueline.
Jacqueline wanted to provide products that benefitted and complemented people working and living in the local community.
“People are becoming more health conscious, and I was delighted with the idea that I could provide Health & Wellness products to the community, that added value to their lives. I am 6 months open now and delighted with the reception and feedback from the local community. They have really supported and embraced my store and the feedback has been amazing,” says Jacqueline.
The products available at The Wellness Pantry include organic vegetables, organic eggs, local honey and apply juice, vitamins/supplements, essential oils, sports nutrition, essential kitchen pantry goods, free from foods to accommodate diets/food intolerances, face and body products, health and wellness literature, healthy snacks, and lots more.
Having returned to live full time in Bundoran, Jacqueline got a fresh new perspective of the value of her local community. Bundoran is an active community, and The Wellness Pantry compliments the local micro communities of gym enthusiasts, runners, surfers, yogi’s and generally people who are health conscious and health curious.
“From living in Dublin and now back home, my own quality of life has changed, I am delighted that now I can provide a store that you can call in and browse. I love meeting people and chatting to my customers, having worked from home for too long, it’s great to feel part of a local community again and meet people that I can help improve their Health and Wellbeing journey”, concludes Jacqueline.
The Wellness Pantry is located at Unit 2, Edenbay, West End, Bundoran, Co. Donegal. Open Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm Closed Sundays.
