Open Call to Artists for design of new award!
Donegal County Council would like to invite artists/designers to submit proposals for the design of a new award which will be presented to the awardees of the Tip O’Neill Annual Irish Diaspora Awards for 2024 and beyond.
The Tip O’Neill Irish Diaspora Award, presented annually by Donegal County Council, seeks to recognise those who have excelled in their chosen field whilst honouring their contribution to Ireland and its Diaspora.
The award was first initiated in 2012 as a means of commemorating the centenary of the birth of the late Tip O’Neill.
Tip was a liberal Democrat and an influential member of the US House of Representatives. His maternal grandparents were native to County Donegal.
A cast of the late Tip O’Neill’s hand, used as the award from 2012 until 2022.

Artists/designers interested in submitting proposals should note the following key points:
Donegal County Council proposes to shortlist up to three designs for stage two of the process.
Closing date for enquiries is Friday, 12th January 2024, 5pm. Enquiries should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org in advance of the deadline with the subject line “Tip O’Neill Annual Irish Diaspora Award Design Application Enquiry”.
Closing date for submissions is Friday, January 19th 5pm. Submissions should be emailed to email@example.com with the subject line “Tip O’Neill Annual Irish Diaspora Award Design Application”.
Shortlisted applicants will be informed by Friday, 26th of January 2024.
