Advancing Green Hydrogen in Donegal

Donegal County Council’s Economic Development Team hosted the 2nd Regional Stakeholder Meeting of the Interreg Europe Green Hydra Project at the CoLab, ATU Letterkenny Campus on 30th September 2025.

The event brought together regional leaders from government, academia, and industry to explore the future of green hydrogen and review progress from recent international conferences in Donegal Town and Sogndal, Norway.

Key speakers included:

Diarmaid Walsh – on hydrogen education through the H2GP project.

Cormac Walsh  – on community-led energy initiatives like the Shamrock and Valentia Island projects.

Katy McNeil – on Scotland’s hydrogen strategy and cross-border collaboration.

Discussions focused on:

-Strengthening regional policy frameworks

-Starting hydrogen education early

-Fostering collaboration between education, policy, and industry

Donegal continues to lead on climate action and sustainable development through innovation and partnership.
