Just 3 Years after the opening of the first Maple store in Derrybeg, Donegal owned Company, Maple Group, now have eight convenience stores, seven with forecourts located throughout rural communities in Donegal. This month they announce plans to further expand and are embarking on an online Home Delivery Service.

Brian Murphy, General Manager of the Maple Group said: “We are delighted with the expansion to eight stores in just 3 years, we have currently our Maple online store and Home Delivery Store in beta mode and we are hoping to launch it online in early 2022.”

Donegal Products available at all Maple Stores.

"We at Maple Group are blown away with the positive feedback from our customers across all our stores. Our aim was to have independent purchasing ability, so our customers would not only benefit from great value products, we also give a platform both instore and online to small artisan food and drink producers in the county."

"Unlike other symbol groups our independence means we can tailor our stores to local needs while supporting local food and drink suppliers such as Blas Bakery in Bunbeg, Kinnegar Brewery, a craft beer company based in Letterkenny, L.A.N. Teo an organic farm based in Falcarragh, Arthur’s Meats, an Inishowen based Meat Company, Glenborin Eggs, based in Glenties, Bon Appetit Catering Company based in Castlefinn to name but a few. Over the coming months and years, we are going to expand upon this as more local Donegal producers come on board. We are continuing to build on our service, quality, convenience with fresh locally sourced food and drink being the focus in all our stores."

Partnering with Circle K, Applegreen and Donegal Oil Company has given us the ability to remain competitive in our seven forecourts.”, said Brian.

Maple Group stores are located in Milford, Carrigart, Castlefinn, Burtonport, Falcarragh, Derrybeg, Ballyliffin and Moville. The ethos behind the Maple brand has led to their now advanced planning initiative for a, “Produced in Donegal for Maple” symbol. This will clearly show customers when they are truly buying local Donegal products. These products will also be a main focus for their online store.

Also speaking on behalf of Maple group, managing director, Arthur McMahon commented, "We are absolutely thrilled to announce that in just a 3 year period our plans to expand our brand to further locations throughout Donegal are continuing. We currently employ more than 120 people from these local areas and hope that we can double that within the next two to three years. With our online home delivery service launching in early 2022, we also have plans to expand our current 8 stores into 10 early next year."

Maple Group have helped raise over €100,000 for local and national charitable organisations since they opened and according to Arthur McMahon all Maple Stores will continue to offer their premises to assist and help local and national fundraising campaigns.

He adds “building on the best customer shopping experience and service is what Maple management and staff will continue to deliver. Serving customers in the heart of their local communities, is at the heart of the Maple Brand”.
