Donegal Connect will take place from 22nd – 25th September 2022, a very exciting county-wide collaborative project aiming to engage with the Donegal Diaspora to entice them to explore the county of Donegal and find out why it is a great place to visit, live, work, invest, study and do business in.
Below you will find details on some of the fantastic events scheduled for across the county that weekend. Keep an eye out for updates and new events being announced!
The Tip O’Neill Irish Diaspora Award is presented on an annual basis to a chosen member of the board Irish Diaspora in recognition of achievements in their chosen field and their interest in, and support for Ireland and its Diaspora.
This years awards takes place at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel in Buncrana on Friday the 23rd of September with guests arriving at 7pm.

Each show commences at 4pm, 5pm & 6pm on Saturday 24th September, allow yourself 45 minutes to be wowed by the performers!
From the Cahir O'Doherty Avenue entrance, the route begins at the Caslte Bridge and follows the natural contour of the park along the Crana River to arrive at the main performance area, where Inishowen Carnival Group will delight spectators with a wonderful performance entitled 'CAIBLEADH: Spirit Voices from the Sea'
Leaving the performance area walk along the decorated paths with Sea Coral and Sculptures and exit via the Castle Bridge.
A town taster event in Colab, Letterkenny, exploring the potential of living & Working remotely in Donegal.
This event begins at 11:00am and will include the experience of remote workers and entrepreneurs, and the supports available to them.
Finn Harps will make an appearance to provide a fun element of remote working and a tour of the world-class building of one of Donegals largest employers, TCS.

It combines community and cultural experiences with fitness and shared learning opportunities. This event will host a series of guided walks of varying skill levels, from casual wanders to hardcore hikes.

This is Inch, Explore for miles! An informative walk through history with Dessie McCallion on Inch. Come along, connect and develop your sense of place as you hear the lost stories of the Inch area.
Trail Gazers in association with Donegal Connect and Inishowen Walking Festival invite you to come along to this informative walk around the beautiful Inch Wildfowl Reserve which will look at the lost stories and tales of the area with local historian and guide – Dessie McCallion.

We present, in concert and informal settings, the best local traditional artists as well as some internationally renowned musicians, singers and dancers. The weekend includes three main concerts, ceilis, and many trad music and song sessions. The headliners this year include Irish-American supergroup Cherish The Ladies, Zoe Conway & John McIntyre, and the trio of Bríd Harper, Dermot Byrne & Steve Cooney.

Click here for more info!Come along and explore the 7km Trail that leads to the ancestral home of Tip O'Neill and discover the rich cultural heritage associated with this wild landscape. This walk will showcase the work of North West Community Development in delivering walking and cycling trails across Inishowen.
Assemble at the North Pole bar at 11:45am on Saturday 24th September, for the Walk and bilingual Talk led by John McCarron, Heritage Works, in collaboration with Glor Inis Eoghain.
The Wild Atlantic Way’s most northernly Film Festival, ‘Disappear Here’ has films, workshops, industry events and thought-provoking discussion. The event returns for a sixth edition to its cinematic home at the Ballyliffin Hotel on the Inishowen Peninsula
FIND OUT MOREThis walk sets off from the Sliabh Sneacht Centre to the side of the twin hills called Barna Mór and Barna Beag, known locally as the King and Queen of the Mintiaghs. This walk is 6 km in total with the first half mostly uphill on a loose blue stone path. This walk gives some of the most spectacular views in Inishowen.
