RTÉ One television will celebrate Culture Night in Donegal on Friday, 22nd September. Singer, musician and broadcaster Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh ( Folk On One, RTÉ Radio 1) will present an hour-long live music and arts programme from Ionad Cois Locha, Dún Lúiche (Dunlewey) in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht
In a lakeside setting in the shadow of Errigal, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will be joined by a host of guest performers including The Murder Capital ( currently one of Ireland’s top rock bands, whose members include bassist Gabriel Pascal Blake from Letterkenny and Donegal Town’s Cathal Roper on guitar). The live show will also feature soul singer songwriter Aly Coulibaly and Dublin based, formerly of Kyiv, jazz and spoken word artist, Olesya Zdorovetska. And one more very special guest artist, yet to be announced.
Over the waves on beautiful Oileán Árainn Mhór (Arranmore Island) off the Donegal coast, leaders of the Irish folk revival Ye Vagabonds will perform on the new shorefront amphitheatre along with Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Nia Byrne from Gaoth Dobhair and LUXE Landscape Theatre from Burnfoot.
