The theme for this years International Women's Day is "Gender equality today for a sustainable future tomorrow". This theme is showcased by the impressive line up of female speakers for this years Local Enterprise Week.
Donegal County Council are hosting two events throughout the week with a line-up of several impressive female entrepreneurs and experts in their fields. Small Business Lunchtime Briefing - EU Funding and Smart Innovation Project Opprtunities on Tuesday at 1pm, & Remote working driving Creativity and Innovation on Thursday 1pm.
The impressive line up of speakers for both events include Dr. Margaret Quinn (Ernact), Maria Gallagher (WiSAR LAb), Eileen Kelly (Enterprise Europe Network) and Laura Gallagher (BeOnline).
Dr. Margaret Quinn
Dr. Quinn acts a project manager for the Donegal Digital partnership and for several EU funded projects which focus on capturing the benefits of digi-tech for the region. She is a Programme Manager with ERNACT, a cross-border service agency for regional Digital Transformation managed by Donegal County Council and Derry City & Strabane District Council and also a trans-European network of public sector organisations.
She previously she worked for an Irish med-tech company, technology organisations in Belgium and Italy and has a track record of managing innovative IT implementation projects in med-tech and logistics.
Eileen Kelly
Eileen Kelly is the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Coordinator for the Local Enterprise Offices and based in Donegal County Council. EEN supports businesses on the internationalisation journey as they move to new markets through provision of information, brokerage events, company missions and a database of over 5,500 opportunities in business, technology and research and development.
The Irish consortium consists of Enterprise Ireland, Dublin and Cork Chambers of Commerce and Donegal County Council as lead partner on behalf of the Local Enterprise Offices. The European Commission launched the Enterprise Europe Network in 2008. The Network is funded through the Single Market Programme (SMP).
Zeynep Yildizeli
As an Account Manager at B2EU Consulting, Zeynep assists our clients with EU funding and government relations issues. Before joining B2EU Consulting, she worked for an international trade association in a role focused on public affairs and coordination of technical committees.
She holds an MA in European Political & Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges and an Executive Masters in Governance & Development Studies from the CERIS-ULB Diplomatic School of Brussels. In addition to her native Turkish, she is fluent in English and French.
Maria Gallagher
Maria Gallagher is the Communications Officer at the WiSAR Lab & Technology Gateway at LYIT. Maria has worked closely with industry, both Indigenous and multinational, in various capacities in the last number of years, with significant expertise across a wide range of funding supports and initiatives.
She also established and leads the Grow Remote Chapter for Donegal and works diligently on promoting remote working opportunities across the county with partners including Finn Harps and Donegal County Council.
Laura Gallagher
Laura Gallagher is the founder of beonline.ie – Donegal’s only dedicated Shopify agency. An expert in Shopify, advanced Facebook marketing and dropshipping.
Laura's experience and knowledge as a remote entrepreneur, located in gteic Gaoth Dobhair in West Donegal is extensive and she shares her insighte and learning through providing courses for individuals across the county seeking to work with platforms such as shopify.
