Féile na mBan is a weekend dedicated to showcasing women in all walks of life. A weekend of women-led artistry, discussion and celebration.
‘Féile na mBan’ means ‘Festival of Women’ in Gaelic. The original Féile na mBan coincides with a Celtic ritual called ‘Imbolc’, also known as St Brigid's day on February 1st.
Brigid is very present in Irish folklore, in pre-Christian times as a Goddess, and also as one of Ireland’s three patron saints. She is unique, in that she represents both a mythical woman and a historical woman, and many of the elements of these identities have been blended to create legends and stories of exceptional female achievement. Our festival celebrates all elements of woman in as many ways possible, and we welcome everyone to join us.
